Trampolines Energy

Children are naturally full of energy and need a means by which to release it.  Outdoors toys are perfect for children to not only expend their seemingly endless energy, but to also develop important interactive and coordination skills.  Using outdoor toys improves muscular ability and promotes critical thinking in children.

Numerous studies have shown that human beings respond positively to being outside and that we inherently crave the outdoors and fresh air.  It is also said by some medical experts that children begin to develop autonomy and independence from their parents while exploring outdoor environments.  They discover that they are able to do things they didn’t know they could do, which gives them a great sense of self-esteem and desire to learn and do more as an individual.

Swimming pools are typically the first thing that comes to mind for most families when they think of investing in an outdoor “toy”.  They are an excellent choice for the entire family and there are several different choices on the market today that don’t require digging a huge hole in your back yard.  Modern-day inflatable pools ranging in size and shape are the perfect answer for the hot summer days.  Whether you choose a round, oval, or rectangular inflatable pool, there’s one that will conveniently fit your outdoor space.  Children and adults alike will enjoy swimming, playing pool games and burning off a lot of energy at the same time.

Trampolines are another popular choice when it comes to outdoor toys.  Children of all ages will get great exercise and have tons of fun jumping on a trampoline in their back yard.  Again, there are several sizes and shapes from which to choose.  There are small trampolines, large trampolines, round ones, oval ones or rectangular ones.  An important accessory for those with young children would be the enclosure that attaches to the trampoline and creates flexible sides around the edges.

Board games will always be a classic way for children to learn skills like simple math, colors, balance, and coordination.  Why not take those concepts outside?  Outside, children have more freedom to be a bit louder and have more space to engage in activities they might not be able to do inside the house.  Garden games are perfect for playing outside and thinking “outside the box” a bit.  Giant towers created in a mirror image of the tabletop game (except much bigger!) will challenge you and your children to pull out the wooden block at the bottom without making the entire tower tumble to the grass.  Another garden version of a popular tabletop game challenges you to get “4 across” before your opponent does.  This version comes in a height that reaches the chest of an average man.

Climbing frames, (jungle gyms), are another fantastic and fun outdoor toy for children.  These can include slides, ladders, monkey bars, climbing walls, swings, poles, swinging rings, bridges, and even a small playhouse.  It doesn’t require much coaxing for children to take action and play hard on a climbing frame.  They’ll use their imaginations all day long creating scenarios with pirates, cops and robbers, knights and princesses, and lots of other characters, all while climbing, sliding, swinging, and using every muscle in their growing and developing bodies.

Perhaps you have children younger than six years of age and don’t feel comfortable with them jumping on a full-size trampoline.  A bouncy castle might be just the answer for you and your little ones.  These fully enclosed bouncing and jumping play areas inflate in minutes and are continuously inflated with an electric air blower.  Some styles even include a basketball hoop so children can practice their jump shot in a safe environment.  Others have a slide on the side so children can not only jump, but also slide and run in a big circle.  You’ll be the hit of the neighborhood!  These bouncy castles are ideal for birthday parties or the occasional family get-together.

Bicycles were once all the rage and pretty much every child in the neighborhood had one.  Give your child the opportunity to use different muscles and skills with a pedal car.  There are models shaped like fire trucks, trains, and dune buggies.  Consider it your child’s first go-cart!  There are pedal and petrol-powered versions available on the market today.  These are ideal for just about any environment and enable children to get the feel for the maneuverability of a small vehicle.  (Note:  If you decide on the petrol-powered version, make sure to obey city regulations concerning usage.)

As you can see, there are several choices in outdoor toys that will benefit your children and the family.  Do your research and decide on the one (or more!) that your family would enjoy together.

Summer Trampolines

Trampolines can be very popular toys during the spring and summer, and sometimes even when the weather is not so nice.  Of course, children who like trampolines may like other bouncy toys.  These can include bouncy ride on balls, pogo sticks, pogo balls, moon shoes, and even bouncy riders.

However, there are some children that do not like bouncy toys, but they would still like to play outside.  Thankfully, there are many outside toys that can be bought or are at least going to be available at a local playground.

Of course, there’s the typical swing set.  Some children love to swing, and there is nothing wrong with that.  However, some children get very tired of swinging and want to do something else.

Thankfully swing sets can come with other attachments.

There are slides.  Slides are great toys for children who like to climb straight and then feel the wind rush over their bodies as they land on the ground.

There are monkey bars.  These can be fun for many children, as long as the children like to hang.

There are sandboxes which can be fun for children who don’t mind getting sand in their clothes.

The only problem is that these tend to be the only things that are offered with swing sets that are not some type of bouncy trampoline like toy.

What are some other options for outdoor toys for children who do not like trampolines?

Of course, there are jungle gyms.  Jungle gyms come in many different shapes and sizes.  The great part about them is that the bars tend to be in many different places.  Thus, children who feel much safer closer to the ground can stay close to the ground.  They either do not have to climb or can simply sit on one of the first bars.  Then, children who like to be high can climb to the highest bars.  They can even hang upside down.

What if the children prefer swimming?

Well, another great idea is to get a pool.  If they are young children and no risk is wanted, wading pools are a great choice.  There are even wading pools with little stairs and a little slide rather than just the pool that sits on the ground and is a round circle with nothing else.  Some wading pools are inflatable and have fountains that come out of them.  There are even family size pool that are not quite considered wading pools, but are only about two feet deep.

Then there are the above ground pools that are about four feet deep.  These are a great choice of toy for older children who like to swim or play in the water.

For small children, there are always play houses.  Of course, there are the typical little indoor play sets.  However, there are even now many different playhouses.  There are small ones that are simple one room houses decorated with maybe a table and a chair.  Then, there are also bigger ones that provide more than one room and can easily be set up outside as if it is a whole house.  This can provide children with hours of fun as they will play house or some other type of game within the playhouse.

So, while trampolines are fun, there are always many other options for those who like and who do not like trampolines.

Popular Trampolines

Trampolines are very popular bouncy toys, especially when it is nice outside.  However, not every family can afford a trampoline and many times there is not a family with a trampoline within a good distance for children to play.

Thankfully, there are other outdoor toys that are very bouncy as well.

First, if it is a trampoline that is really wanted, a child may be pleased if a mini trampoline is bought.  This will not provide all the fun of a full size trampoline, but the child can easily have fun bouncing on the trampoline and trying different things with it.  It also means that it is portable which may suit the child’s needs much better than a huge stationary trampoline.

If the child is old enough to balance and likes to bounce, the toy of choice might be the pogo stick.  The pogo stick is a simple toy.  It is a bar with handles at one end and foot pads on the other.  There is a spring under the foot pads so it will support the pole and the user when it hits the ground.

There have also been improvements to the pogo stick and these are valid options for bouncy toys.  First, there is the Vurtego, which uses an air spring system rather than the traditional spring.  Then there is also the Flybar.  Rather than using a spring, it uses twelve (12) elastic bands.

Another bouncy toy that may appease children is the pogo ball.  This is a rubber ball that is locked into a sturdy plastic platform.  The user then stands on the platform, holding the ball between the feet, and bounces with the ball.  This toys is also known as the lolo ball, the springball, and the disc o.

Yet another bouncy toy that may be a good option instead of a trampoline are moon shoes.  The shoes are marketed as mini trampolines for the feet, and that is basically what they are.  The shoe tops are placed on top of a casing where material is stretched over a free flowing inner web of stretched bands.  This gives the same type of rebound as a trampoline, but it is made for the feet.

Then there are the sit on bouncy balls.  While these may not provide the same type of fun as trampolines or the other bouncy toys, they are much safer for younger children and can still be a lot of fun.  These balls tend to be huge for the person using the ball and have a rubber hook on one side that can be held.  This way the user can sit on the ball and has support so it can be bounced along in any type of path where the user wants to go.  Sometimes these balls even have covers to look like different animals or television characters.

Of course, for young children (or at least those young at heart and not over the weight limit), there are the bouncy horses.  Rather than a rocking horse, these horses are suspended on metal frames and have springs that keep them in place.  Users can then ride the bouncy horse.  Large and small versions are made, so the horses can be kept either inside or outside.  These are similar to the bouncy riders found on playgrounds, but they tend to give more of a bouncy feeling.

Different Trampolines

A trampoline is a piece of material that is stretched over a steel frame and hooked to many springs so it is taut and provides a rebounding force.  This propels any person who jumps on the trampoline to bounce back into the air.  A trampoline’s fabric does not bounce.  The tautness of the material hooked to the springs provides the bounce.

There are many sizes of trampolines.  Of course, there are huge trampolines that are meant to be used outside.  They may be used as toys for playtime.  They may also be used for Olympic events.  The Olympians that do trampoline sports are known as trampolinists.

There are also quite small trampolines.  They are usually about a yard or less in diameter and sometimes they are called trampettes.  They are usually used for physical fitness, but youngsters can find much joy in using them as toys as well.  These trampolines are usually kept indoors and they do not give as much as a rebound as full size trampolines.

However, these trampolines can be kept outdoors as well.  They can definitely provide extra fun to different outdoor activities.

Only so much can be done or added on a full size trampoline while still keeping children safe.  However, small children like to play outside and have very vivid imaginations.  If they need help pretending, here are some ideas that they can be told and then they can play on the trampoline.

Roll around on the trampoline and see if you bounce.
Pretend to be different animals that jump and jump around on the trampoline.
Pretend to be a superhero and fly around the trampoline by jumping as if it is the city that the superhero saves.
If there are at least two children, have them take turns where only one jumps on the trampoline and the others sit once and lie down once to see what it feels like when somebody else is jumping and have them feel that they are also affected by the movement.

Small trampolines can be brought other places, unlike a full size trampoline that has to stay in one place.

The small trampolines can add a lot of fun to any outdoor game or even at the playground.

Playing baseball when the pitcher has to move about on a trampoline or both the pitcher and the batter have to move about on a trampoline make a great difference in the game.  It is no longer just standing still and watching the pitch, now movement is added.  Even if the pitcher or the batter try not to move, the trampoline will make it impossible for no movement to happen.

A mini trampoline can be brought to the playground.  This has advantages for smaller children.  Sometimes smaller children can not reach the monkey bars or climb as high as they would like on a jungle gym.  However, by bringing a mini trampoline, this can change by giving them a small boost.  This way they can try climbing by themselves and not rely on a parent’s help to just lift them up to the bars.  The children will feel much more accomplished by this feat.

Of course, trampolines are a great source of fun for children who like to bounce. These toys will also keep them from jumping on the bed if they tend to do that type of thing.

If a trampoline is not in the budget, there are other bouncy toys that can be bought as well.  These include pogo sticks, pogo balls, and for those families with large budgets, even inflatable bouncy houses or castles.

My Trampoline Experiences

When I Was younger I could eat anything I wanted, sit around for as long as I wanted and not think about the weight I wasn’t putting on. Then I started my family, I had 3 children,  4 years apart from the oldest to the youngest. That is when the weight really started to pile on.

I must have tried every single diet going, soup diets, cereal diets, the diets, where you eat no carbohydrates, eating 3 very low fat meals a day, nothing worked. I tried dieting whilst going to the gym, then I was finding that the few odd pounds that I did lose was being straight back on when I had eaten nothing but a lettuce leaf for weeks then went out for that sneaky Chinese. But what was I suppose to do? I am a Mother, people cant seriously expect me not to socialise, I need some salvation once and a while. I was never big but I was big for my height, I weighed about 12 stone and I am only 5ft.My husband always tells me I am beautiful and that my weight does not matter but as a woman you always feel that you could be slimmer.

Then it happened, My eldest son had been round his friends house for a play day and when I picked him up he said to me “Mum, can we get a Trampoline, my friend has one, we have been playing on it all afternoon”. So I called his mum, I thought he was talking about one of those mini trampolines you see in sports shops, but this trampoline was huge. It was surrounded by a huge safety net with a little step ladder to help you get onto it.

I had a look online and found a great one that would fit in my garden but was big enough for all 3 of my children to jump around and avoiding collisions. I was surprised at how cheap it was. The children were warn out by the time I put them to bed.

One night I decided to have a go myself. I must have jumped for a good 30 minutes, I had so much fun. To my amazement after 2 weeks I had lost 5lbs, so I carried on jumping an eating well. I jumped with the kids and when they had gone to bed. My Husband noticed a huge change in me after a month or so,  I had lost a stone in 6 weeks, I felt so fit and healthy. The amount of exercise I was getting was also lightening my mood, it was a win, win situation for everyone.

6 Months on I have lost 2 stone and I have never felt better. My Trampoline was by far the best diet I have ever been on.

Trampolines and Outdoor Toys for Exercise

Because we live in a world where child obesity is now becoming more common, it is important for children to get outside and exercise while they play. It is important to teach children of all ages good exercising habits, to ensure they maintain a healthy lifestyle as soon as they learn how to walk. Exercise can be fun for both children and adults, and getting outside and playing on trampolines and other outdoor toys is a great way to teach healthy exercise habits. Exercising can be fun and entertaining for children, but still be very beneficial to their overall health.

Trampolines are very fun for children of all ages, and adults can even get in on the fun of having one in your backyard. They are great for increasing heart rate as well as maintaining a healthy metabolism, but children use them for jumping around and playing games. Trampolines are great for providing exercise to children, but they think they are just going outside to have a good time. They can jump around, try flips, or even play games with their friends, and they will be exercising and burning calories at the same time. They are also great for letting children get their energy out before going back inside, so they won’t be running around and acting up since they will be tired from their trampoline fun.

Wooden climbing frames are also great for children to learn healthy habits, since they involve children running around and climbing on different types of stairs and structures. They are great for toddlers learning to walk and climb and ideal for older children who love to stay in constant motion. Climbing frames work many of the different muscle groups in the body, since you can climb up stairs, across a rope, or even up a slanted wall. They can even slide down slides, climb up miniature rock climbing walls, or even swing on swings and climb through tubes. They can keep children entertained for hours, and can handle the weight of several children depending on the size. Wooden climbing frames come in a number of different sizes and varieties, so they can fit in almost any backyard and accommodate practically any size family with children of all ages.

Many other outdoor toys are also great for exercise, such as swimming pools, pedal cars, and even table sports. They all work at increasing heart rate and encouraging constant motion, which makes it easy for children to learn healthy habits for avoiding obesity. They are great for children and entire families, and work great at encouraging family bonding in your own backyard. Adults can even get in on the fun with their children, and promote healthy lifestyles for everyone in the family. Being outdoors with the family can be very enjoyable, and is also great for providing health benefits especially using  trampolines, climbing frames and other outdoor toys for exercise.
